Atostek’s eRA service has successfully passed the formal conformity assessment and the information security certification which are required by the 2. phase of Finnish national regulation of electronic prescription. The production system has already been updated to support the changes in regulation which will apply on January 1, 2017. Thus, the new features are automatically at the disposal of all users of the eRA eResepti service.

– From a doctor’s point of view, one of the most interesting new features is the ability to write their own charge, such as the prescription renewal fee, to the prescriptions which then will be paid through the pharmacy, says Mr. Jani-Petteri Peltovuori, Atostek.

– Another important new feature is related to the electronic prescription becoming obligatory in the beginning of 2017. A prescription written on paper or dictated on the phone can be used only in some limited exceptional cases. In these cases, an electronic prescription must be made in the pharmacy when delivering the prescribed medicine. eRA now supports these cases as well, continues Mr. Peltovuori.
