It connects prescriptions to Kela&#8217;s (independent Finnish social security institution) database. The implementation includes a browser-based user interface and a smart card reader. Thus, it can be used with a patient information system or independently.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation attracted large amounts of audience. The private medical units are obliged to deploy electronic prescriptions by April, 2014.
