On-line prescription presented on health care trade shows

Atostek Ltd. and Pro Media data Oy presented an on-line prescription service at Terveysteknologia 2014 Trade Show in Helsinki on January 8-10, 2014.

NettiResepti is an internet application for electronic handling of medical prescriptions and patient data. It connects prescriptions to Kela’s (independent Finnish social security institution) database. The implementation includes a browser-based user interface and a smart card reader. Thus, it can be used with a patient information system or independently.

The presentation attracted large amounts of audience. The private medical units are obliged to deploy electronic prescriptions by April, 2014. The Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has announced that the goal is to extend electronic prescriptions everywhere, including independent medical doctors and dentists, who usually can’t afford a patient information system.

NettiResepti electronic prescription system will be presented again on ICT Health Care Conference on May 20-21, 2014, Jyväskylä, Finland.
