Atostek ID card reader software is now compatible with the Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) virtualization solution. The support for the virtualization solution was built in close cooperation between Microsoft and Atostek on a fast schedule.
The Atostek ID card reader is now compatible with the Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) virtualization solution. Azure Virtual Desktop is a PaaS service provided by Microsoft that enables cost-effective virtualization and management of desktop environments and applications on the Azure cloud platform.
Microsoft AVD support implemented in cooperation on a fast schedule
Microsoft and Atostek collaborated to develop AVD support for the Atostek ID card reader software on a fast schedule. This enables organizations using Atostek ID to deploy an Azure Virtual Desktop solution. Previously, the Atostek ID card reader software officially supported only one virtualization platform.
Microsoft’s virtualization solutions Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 have aroused interest especially in healthcare organizations. Cost-saving pressures and reducing the complexity of maintenance are on the agenda of all customers. In the wellbeing services counties, both Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 are being tested extensively, and in some areas, the services are already in daily use.

In addition to electronic identification and signature, Atostek ID can be used to activate a certificate card and change the card’s PINs, for example.
